Privacy Notice
Last updated: 2 August 2026
This notice explains how NextCareerNow.com ("NextCareerNow", "we", "us", or "our") collects and uses personal information when you use our job-search, job-alert, and related services.
1. Who we are
NextCareerNow operates the website at nextcareernow.com and is the controller of personal information where we decide why and how it is used. Advertising providers, job partners, and destination websites may be separate controllers for their own processing.
For privacy questions or requests, email contact@nextcareernow.com.
2. Scope of this notice
This notice covers the NextCareerNow website and the information we collect through it. Job listings and advertisements may take you to another organisation's website. That organisation's privacy notice applies after you leave our site or give information directly to it.
3. Information we collect

| Contact and subscription information | Email address, job-alert preferences, notification choices, and messages you send us. |
| Device and network information | IP address, browser and operating-system details, language, device information, and timestamps. |
| Usage and event information | Pages and jobs viewed, clicks, searches, referrer, page URL and query parameters, campaign source, errors, and interaction timing. |
| Identifiers and browser storage | Our pseudonymous user ID, cookie or localStorage identifiers, consent records, advertising identifiers, and cached search preferences. |
| Job and referral information | Job or provider identifiers, outbound destination, affiliate or campaign identifiers, and information needed to open a selected listing. |

Please do not provide health information, ethnicity, religion, political opinions, trade-union membership, sexual-orientation information, biometric data, or other special-category information through the site. We do not need it to provide the job-search service.
4. How we collect information
- From you: when you search, enter a location, subscribe to an alert, permit notifications, or contact us.
- Automatically: through server logs, site code, cookies, localStorage, pixels, consent signals, and similar technologies.
- From partners: through referral parameters, advertising campaigns, job providers, and approximate-location or technical services.
5. Why we use information and our lawful bases
| Purpose | Typical information | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| Provide searches, listings, redirects, and features you request | Search, location, device, job, and referral information | Performance of a contract or steps you ask us to take before entering one |
| Remember requested settings and maintain essential site operation | Preferences, session information, security information, and essential storage | Contract and our legitimate interests in operating a reliable service; device storage is used without consent only where legally exempt |
| Measure use, diagnose errors, and improve the site | Usage, event, device, network, and identifier information | Consent where cookies or similar non-essential storage are used; otherwise our legitimate interests where permitted |
| Serve and measure advertising, including personalised advertising where selected | Consent signals, search context, page information, advertising identifiers, device and network information | Consent where required; fraud prevention and strictly necessary delivery may rely on legitimate interests where permitted |
| Send email job alerts or browser notifications | Email address, push subscription, job and location preferences | Consent, which you may withdraw at any time |
| Prevent abuse, protect the service, and establish or defend legal claims | Network, device, event, identifier, and account information | Our legitimate interests in security and legal protection; legal obligation where applicable |
| Comply with law and respond to valid legal requests | Information relevant to the request | Legal obligation |
Where we rely on legitimate interests, those interests are operating, securing, measuring, and improving the service and protecting our legal rights. We consider the effect on your rights before relying on this basis.
6. Cookies, localStorage, advertising, and consent
We use cookies and similar technologies, including localStorage, pixels, scripts, and browser identifiers. Our Cookie and Local Storage Policy describes the categories, examples, purposes, and controls.
For eligible visitors in the UK, EEA, and Switzerland, we use Google's Consent Management Platform to display privacy choices and create an IAB Europe TCF v2.3 consent signal. If enabled in our AdSense account, Google Consent Mode passes relevant choices to Google advertising and analytics products. Our own code and non-Google technologies must also respect the applicable choice.
If the controls do not open, the consent service may not yet be available for your region or browser. You can still email us to withdraw consent or request assistance.
7. Who receives information
Depending on the features you use and your choices, recipients may include:
-
Service infrastructure: hosting, content-delivery, database, API, error-monitoring,
security, and communication providers. Our service infrastructure includes endpoints hosted at
youwantwork.comthat receive event, search, and subscription information. - Google: for the Google CMP, AdSense for Search/Custom Search Ads, Google Ads, Analytics, and related measurement and fraud-prevention services. See how Google uses information from partner sites.
- Mapbox: where location search or geocoding is used. See the Mapbox Privacy Policy.
- Error and push-notification providers: such as TrackJS and the web-push provider used for a notification flow, where those features are active and permitted.
- Job, advertising, and job-alert partners: when they provide a listing or ad, when you click through to them, or when you separately consent to receive their alerts. Partners should be identified in the listing, destination, consent message, or sign-up wording.
- Authorities and professional advisers: where reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights, investigate abuse, or establish and defend legal claims.
- A buyer or successor: in connection with a proposed or completed corporate sale, merger, reorganisation, or transfer, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal safeguards.
Some recipients process information only under our instructions. Others, including many advertising providers and destination job sites, determine their own purposes and are separate controllers.
8. Email alerts and browser notifications
We send job-alert emails or browser notifications only when you make the relevant choice. Consent to email or push marketing is separate from cookie consent and from accepting the Terms of Use. Sign-up wording should name NextCareerNow and any partner that will send or receive the marketing information.
You can unsubscribe using the link in an email, disable notifications in your browser, or contact us. We may retain limited suppression information so that we continue to respect an unsubscribe request.
9. International transfers
Some service providers and partners may process information outside the country where you live, including outside the UK or EEA. Where we initiate a restricted transfer, we use a lawful transfer mechanism, such as applicable adequacy regulations or appropriate contractual safeguards. These may include the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or EU Standard Contractual Clauses, together with a transfer assessment where required.
You may contact us for more information about safeguards relevant to your information.
10. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purpose collected. Our criteria include:
- Search preferences and browser identifiers: until overwritten, deleted by the site, or cleared through browser controls, subject to the periods in the Cookie and Local Storage Policy.
- Event and technical logs: for the period needed to measure service use, diagnose problems, prevent abuse, and resolve disputes, after which they are deleted or aggregated where practicable.
- Email and push subscriptions: until you unsubscribe, withdraw permission, or the subscription becomes invalid.
- Consent and suppression records: for as long as reasonably necessary to demonstrate and respect your choices and meet legal obligations.
- Requests, complaints, and legal records: for the period required to respond and for any applicable legal limitation or record-keeping period.
We review retention when information is no longer required and delete or anonymise it where appropriate.
11. Your data-protection rights
Depending on the law that applies and the relevant lawful basis, you may have the right to:
- ask for access to your personal information;
- ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- ask us to erase information in certain circumstances;
- ask us to restrict processing in certain circumstances;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests and object at any time to direct marketing;
- receive certain information in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier lawful processing; and
- complain to a data-protection authority.
To exercise a right, email contact@nextcareernow.com. We may ask for information needed to verify your identity. Rights are subject to legal conditions and exemptions, and we generally respond within one month where UK GDPR applies.
UK users may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. If you are in the EEA, you may also contact your local supervisory authority.
12. Recommendations and automated processing
The site may rank or select job listings using information such as your search terms, location, and previous site choices. NextCareerNow does not use this process to make employment decisions and does not make solely automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
13. Security
We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information. No internet service is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please contact us if you believe your information or use of the site has been compromised.
14. Children
The site is not directed to people under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a person under 18 has provided information, please contact us.
15. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice when our services, providers, or legal obligations change. We will change the date at the top and provide an additional notice where a material change requires it.
